Recent Flooding in Washington DC .

The recent flooding in Washington DC invoked some rather "Scary" headlines across many platforms of Social media today, and yet again the target was "AGW missionaries" of Doom and gloom. Here is a recent Tweet from AOC.

Sounds rather consistent with the current "State of affairs" when talking about climate doesn't it?

However does the wording in AOC's Tweet ring true with "life" events?, let's have a look.

Can Flooding be linked to "recent changes" in climate (70yrs)?. Absolutely not, and here is why.

1..May 1771- the Great "Fresh flood"

2..Great flood of 1889. Pennsylvania Avenue during the Flood of June 2nd. The Potomac River crested 12.5 feet above flood stage, flooding many areas of Washington.

3..Great flood of 1924.

4..Great flood of 1936 again the Potomac River caused significant damage to local businesses.

5..1942 Floodwaters reach the steps of the Jefferson Memorial, October 17th. Washington's rainfall was 6.27 inches, but 10 to 15 inches of rain fell to the west of D.C. one day rainfall!

6..July 22nd 1969 "Flash Flood"

7.. The Agnes Flood of June 21-23, 1972.

8..The Flood of 1985

9..The Floods of 1996. The Potomac River rose 85 feet in 48 hours at Great Falls during the Flood of January.

10..The Extreme Flash Flood of August 11, 2001. The flash flooding of August 11 occurred along a narrow band from Warrenton, Virginia through Fairfax County, and extended into northern D.C. Up to 7 inches of rain fell on parts of Washington.

Continuing to deceive the public into thinking this according to "climatological" 1% chance of happening in a single year is utterly unfounded and please feel free to check the above details.
