Arctic-Antarctica-Greenland update.

Hi and welcome to the Blog.

Arctic Sea ice concentration for yesterday was 5.6M km2, parts of the Arctic are yet to see any advances due to an unseasonably high ridge, temperatures are well above average in the east.

Reference to areas 3-6.

It's not truthful for me to intimate ice is good at this point in the Arctic, that would be utterly unscientific.

Judah Cohen has written several papers with reference to Ice/Snow extent, less ice more Snow seems to fit nicely and visa versa.

Below we can see great advances in Eurasia and indeed North America.

Coincidence? Absolutely not.

Antarctica sea ice concentration for the same date was 18.39M Km2 again the mean for October is looking likely to be around 18.3M Km2, for comparison 2019 was 17.96M Km2.

Arctic/Antarctica.

Greenland

Greenland SMBacc and Daily additions to yesterday were as follows.

SMBacc 117.2Gt's

Daily contribution 2.720 Gt's. again no deficit since early September.

Will be worth keeping an eye on the Eurasian snow cover during the next few weeks, as sea ice struggles to advance.

That concludes today's update.

Thanks.

David.
