Hello and welcome to the blog.
Sea ice concentration for the Arctic stood at 5.55M Km2 on 18/10/2020.
Again it's not hard to sea why Siberian sea ice is at a satellite era low, looking at the anomalously high pressure ridge and above average seasonal temperatures.
Antarctica is still holding out and is currently at 18.47M Km2, heading slowly to SH summer months.
There is no catastrophic change in Antarctica other than decadal chsnges, of natural variability that rebounds time and time again.
Greenland
The SMBacc for yesterday was 107.7 Gigatons with a decent daily contribution of just over 3 Gigatons or 300000000 metric tons.
For those that need justification here is the polarportal.org graphic.
Once again trending above the 1981-2010 mean.
Hear it on MSM? Unfortunately not, it would seem the greatest area of ice/fresh water on Earth is outclassed by Arctic conditions constantly.
That concludes today's update.
Thanks
David.
